Job description
- Independently take charge of the quality assurance activities entrusted to the projects;
- Contribute to defining and implementing the quality approach and strategy according to the nature, scope and risks of the project;
- Analyze business needs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and proposed solutions to determine appropriate trial coverage;
- Identify quality risks, dependencies and blockers, and then propose concrete solutions to address them;
- Design, document, maintain and execute test cases and scenarios;
- Perform functional, integration, system, API, web, mobile, and regression testing;
- Perform technical validations using SQL, API testing tools, data analysis, and log analysis;
- Coordinate the preparation of environments, data and requirements for the execution of the tests;
- Document, analyze, and follow up on anomalies until they are resolved;
- Plan and coordinate testing activities based on project milestones and dependencies;
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, quality specialists, business partners and other stakeholders involved in the production;
- Communicate quality status, risks, blockers, and items requiring a decision;
- Contribute to quality and risk assessment for release;
- Support the quality manager in the preparation, coordination and follow-up of the quality activities of the project when required;
- Participate in the continuous improvement of quality assurance practices and working methods.
The profile we are looking for is as follows:
- Have relevant experience in quality assurance in information technology projects;
- Have a strong background in designing, documenting and executing scenarios and test cases;
- Master Jira and Xray for managing and tracking quality activities;
- Know SQL in order to perform data validations;
- Experience with API testing using Postman or an equivalent tool;
- Demonstrate experience in testing web applications;
- Experience or knowledge of iOS and Android mobile app trials;
- Perform technical analysis from data, API responses, and logs;
- Use Confluence or an equivalent documentation and collaboration tool;
- Understand the quality assurance processes, anomaly management and different testing phases of a project;
- Operate efficiently in a combination of manual and automated testing environment;
- Experience in brokerage, financial services or transactional systems (an asset);
- Demonstrate strong autonomy, analytical skills and the ability to tailor testing efforts based on risks and priorities;
- Demonstrate rigor, organization, attention to detail and judgment in a context where priorities can change rapidly;
- Quickly identify problems, risks and blockers and propose solutions or mitigations;
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and exert constructive influence;
- Be curious and keep knowledge up to date in order to fully understand the solutions being tested.
