Job description
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver tailored solutions;
- Design, document, and implement scalable data pipelines that enable the ingestion, processing, and storage of large volumes of data from a variety of sources;
- Optimize data processing workflows to ensure performance, efficiency, and availability of data for analytics and reporting;
- Support the resolution of data pipeline incidents to ensure data quality and availability;
- Participate in the documentation of data pipeline service level objectives (SLOs);
- Contribute to the application of data quality, data modeling, and data integration standards;
- Estimate the effort required for user stories based on the defined acceptance criteria;
- Share best practices and offer support to members of the data community;
- Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
The profile we are looking for is as follows:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, statistics, mathematics or a related field;
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a data engineering consultant;
- Master Python and Apache Spark;
- Experience with the Databricks platform and its core components, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workspaces, Lakeflow, and Asset Bundle;
- Be familiar with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure DevOps pipelines;
- Proficiency with version control systems, including Azure DevOps;
- Have a strong background with SQL and relational databases;
- Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, performance optimization, medallion architecture, and concepts and techniques for implementing Slowly Changing Dimensions;
- Be familiar with Agile methodologies and processes;
- Experience with Google BigQuery (an asset);
- Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, problem-solving and documentation writing skills;
- This position requires fluency in French and English for daily tasks, understanding documentation, and professional communication with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across Canada. French and English language skills are essential, both oral and written.
