Job description
- Lead the delivery of the modernization project from end to end;
- Establish and maintain the project's governance structures, monitoring mechanisms and decision-making processes;
- Lead meetings of the executive committee, delivery committee and project teams;
- Track and communicate project status, progress, milestones, risks, dependencies, and budget status;
- Prepare senior management presentations, progress reports and documentation for steering committees;
- Manage project execution according to Agile principles and iterative delivery approaches;
- Coordinate sprint planning, backlog prioritization, delivery planning, and delivery reviews;
- Track team velocity, scope progress, and resource allocation;
- Ensure the successful delivery of functional increments according to business priorities;
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle;
- Act as the primary point of contact between Domtar and the external software engineering partner;
- Coordinate activities between development, architecture, quality assurance (QA), DevOps, security, data migration, and integration teams;
- Track vendor performance, quality of deliverables, compliance with contractual commitments, and service levels;
- Facilitate troubleshooting and escalation management when needed;
- Engage business leaders, business experts, IT teams, SAP teams, security teams, and operational users throughout the project;
- Promote stakeholder alignment, support decision-making, and validate requirements.
- Lead organizational change management and communication activities;
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training activities, knowledge transfer, and deployment readiness;
- Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, forecasts, and resource requirements;
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies;
- Ensure that the scope of the project remains aligned with approved objectives and business priorities;
- Manage change requests and evaluate their impact on the project's schedule, budget and results;
- Experience with ERP environments and SAP-integrated applications is considered a strong asset;
- Coordinate roll-up preparation, deployment planning, cutover execution, and cooldown period;
- Ensure the production of operational documentation, training materials, support procedures and knowledge transfer activities;
- Develop and modernize cloud applications;
- Ease the transition to support and operations teams after release.
- Hold a1st cycle university degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, business administration or a related field;
- Have more than eight (8) years of experience in project management related to software development or modernization of complex applications;
- Demonstrate experience in delivering enterprise software projects using Agile methodologies;
- Manage external vendors, consultancies, and system integrators;
- Successfully coordinate multidisciplinary teams of business and technology teams;
- Manage budgets, schedules, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications for medium to large initiatives;
- Master Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies;
- Be able to apply DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, software testing, and release management processes;
- Understand API-based integrations as well as enterprise application ecosystems;
- Be aware of application migration, technology modernization, and legacy system replacement projects;
- Understand AI-assisted software development practices as well as emerging AI engineering concepts;
- Collaborate effectively with technical teams using AI-driven development approaches, while ensuring compliance with governance and quality standards.
