Job description
- Provide analysis and trends from security log data from multiple heterogeneous security devices;
- Be responsible for the development and validation of use cases, and develop threat hunting programs and capabilities;
- Investigating, documenting and reporting on information security issues as well as emerging trends;
- Conduct threat hunting activities to identify potential adversaries within the network, and participate in enterprise exercises to detect and correct any gaps or defects in use cases;
- Provide support and/or conduct research on any security-related issues or incidents;
- Perform tasks autonomously, with limited supervision;
- Integrate and share information with other analysts and teams;
- Apply incident-specific procedures to triage potential security incidents, determine required mitigation measures, and keep these procedures up to date;
- Escalate potential security incidents to Level IV engineers, implement countermeasures, and recommend operational improvements;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the bank's technology architecture, known vulnerabilities, security solutions used for monitoring, imminent and widespread threats identified by threat intelligence, as well as recent incidents;
- Continuously improve service by identifying and correcting gaps (analysis procedures, scenarios, customer network models), adjusting false positives, and recommending new use cases, content, countermeasures, and scripts;
- Act as an expert in at least one security area (e.g., specific antimalware solution, Python programming, etc.);
- Improving through continuous learning and aiming for progression to a position Level IV Analyst;
- Comply with internal operational security and other policies applicable
- Interact regularly with the CSIRT AMER (CTI, Purple) teams, as well as with the EMEA and APAC regions;
- Perform small project tasks as required.
The profile you are looking for is as follows:
- Have certifications such as GCFA, GCIH, OSCP or equivalent considered (an asset);
- Experience in managing level 3 computer security incidents, or several years of experience (five (5) years or more) at level 2;
- Have first-hand experience with antivirus solutions, endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, firewalls, and content filtering;
- Demonstrated experience or knowledge in incident response, incident analysis, incident analysis, PCAP logs and analysis;
- Demonstrate at least five (5) years of experience with the following technologies: SIEM, ELK, IDS/IPS, Network and Host Firewall, Data Leak Prevention (DLP);
- Have in-depth technical knowledge of the methods used by malware and APT groups;
- Knowledge of security applied to network infrastructure, UNIX and Windows environments, databases, package deployment tools, and security solutions (USB port control, disk encryption, etc.);
- Have scripting skills (Shell, Python, Java, PowerShell, Ansible, SQL);
- Have a good understanding of the attack methods used by threat actors: phishing, port scanning, web application attacks, DDoS attacks, lateral movements;
- Demonstrate a good command of network fundamentals (OSI, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S) model), SMTP);
- Possess a strong motivation to learn and contribute to the continuous evolution of the team;
- This position requires fluency in French and English for daily tasks, understanding documentation, and professional communication with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across Canada. Language skills in French and English are essential, both oral and written.
