Job description
- Design, evolve and document LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi and data center network architectures;
- Assess business needs and recommend technology directions;
- Manage projects for the implementation, migration and modernization of network infrastructures;
- Define standards, configuration templates and network engineering best practices;
- Configure, administer and maintain Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Nokia and Alcatel equipment;
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability using monitoring and observability tools;
- Manage the lifecycle of equipment, including upgrades, replacements and removals;
- Keep technical documentation, network diagrams, CMDB and IP registers up to date;
- Design and enforce network security policies including segmentation, VPN, NAC and ZTNA;
- Collaborate with security teams for vulnerability, incident and audit management;
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements;
- Contribute to succession and business continuity plans;
- Act as an escalation point for complex network and security incidents;
- Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions;
- Automate recurring tasks and deployments using scripts and framework-as-code tools;
- Identify opportunities to optimize and reduce operating costs;
- Mentor and support intermediate and junior analysts;
- Participate in change committees and popularize technical issues with stakeholders;
- Collaborate with suppliers and integrators in the context of calls for tenders and SLA follow-ups;
- Ensure a technological watch and recommend innovative solutions.
The profile we are looking for is as follows:
- Have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in enterprise network administration, including five (5) years in a senior role;
- Experience in designing, scaling and documenting LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi and data center network architectures;
- Knowledge of operational technologies such as SCADA and IT/OT environments;
- Demonstrate experience in diagramming and network engineering follow-ups;
- Master Cisco Meraki solutions in multi-site environments;
- Have significant experience with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer);
- Understand multi-vendor environments including Nokia and Alcatel (an important asset);
- Experience in managing or piloting network infrastructure projects;
- Master TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VRRP/HSRP and STP protocols;
- Be familiar with SD-WAN, VPN, QoS and traffic engineering technologies;
- Demonstrate expertise in network security including IPS/IDS, segmentation, NAC, ZTNA and Zero Trust;
- Use monitoring and analysis tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Splunk, Grafana, and Wireshark;
- Understand Azure and AWS cloud environments and their network components;
- Have automation skills with PowerShell, Python, REST API, Ansible or Terraform (an asset);
- Know ITIL best practices related to change and incident management;
- Hold a Cisco CCNP certification or senior equivalent;
- Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, CCIE, Azure, AWS, or ITIL certifications (an asset);
- Hold knowledge or certifications from Alcatel or Nokia (an asset);
- Demonstrate technical leadership and engage teams without hierarchical links;
- Demonstrate rigor, analytical and problem-solving;
- Work independently and manage priorities effectively in a critical environment;
- Communicate technical concepts clearly and popularize technical concepts to different audiences;
- Adopt a collaborative spirit, customer focus and commitment to quality of service;
- Be curious and keep an active technology watch;
- This position requires working primarily in French, while requiring a functional command of English for daily tasks. This English proficiency is essential for understanding documentation and ensuring professional communication with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across Canada.
