Job description
- Analyze the needs of business teams in order to identify the required data and translate the requirements into functional specifications data;
- Define the mapping between business data and technical sources, including APIs, JSON frameworks, and transactional systems;
- Identify complex data paths and manage integrations from multiple sources;
- Formalize the rules for transformation, enrichment, normalization and conditional logic necessary for data processing;
- Collaborate in the design and evolution of analytical data models, including star models and Data Vault approaches;
- Determine the nature of the data and structure transactional facts, customer attributes, and analytical dimensions;
- Establish data quality rules to ensure completeness, consistency and validity of the information;
- Ensure data traceability and identify critical elements within information flows;
- Produce functional documentation, detailed mappings, and transformation rules needed by technical teams;
- Coordinate work with business experts, developers and designers to validate data models and business rules;
- Document all data flows, from sources to staging, data warehouse and datamart environments;
- Participate in initiatives to transition and decommission legacy systems while assessing impacts on analytical and decision-making processes.
The profile you are looking for is as follows:
- Have more than five years of experience in data analysis and translating business needs into functional data specifications;
- Master data mapping between business data and technical sources, including APIs, JSON frameworks, and transactional systems;
- Experience in defining rules for transformation, enrichment, normalization, and conditional logic;
- Understand the principles of data modeling and their application in an analytical context;
- Know star patterns, including fact tables and dimensions;
- Experience with data quality, including completeness, consistency and validity;
- Ensure the traceability of data across different systems and information flows;
- Produce clear functional documentation and detailed mappings for technical teams;
- Understand the complete architecture of data flows including sources, staging environments, data warehouses and data marts;
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders and facilitate exchanges between stakeholders;
- Experience with Data Vault modeling, including hubs, links, and satellites (an asset);
- This position requires working primarily in French, while requiring a functional command of English for daily tasks. This English proficiency is essential for understanding documentation and ensuring professional communication with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across Canada.
