Job description
- Analyze existing Tableau reports and dashboards to document their functional and technical specifications;
- Tailor data models and queries based on sources hosted on Snowflake and Databricks, while optimizing performance;
- Recreate and validate complex business calculations in Power BI, including DAX metrics and Level of Detail (LOD) calculations equivalents, ensuring compliance with original reports;
- Collaborate with business teams to validate business logic and KPIs;
- Document the migration process, technical choices, gaps between environments and ensure knowledge transfer to internal teams.
The profile you are looking for is as follows:
- Have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in developing and architecting business intelligence solutions;
- Be proficient in Power BI and have an excellent knowledge of Tableau;
- Have real-world experience in at least one Tableau to Power BI report migration project;
- Experience with Snowflake as your primary data source as well as an excellent knowledge of Databricks;
- Be proficient in DAX as well as Level of Detail (LOD) calculations and Table table calculations;
- Know SQL for query and query optimization on Snowflake and Databricks;
- Have a very good knowledge of Python;
- Master data modeling best practices, including star schemas and performance optimization;
- Have a good understanding of the financial sector, particularly fixed income, including bonds, interest rates, duration, convexity, credit spreads and yield curves (an asset);
- Demonstrate the ability to carry out a migration mandate independently with a minimum of supervision;
- Excellent communication skills with technical teams and business stakeholders;
- Demonstrate an ability to support change;
- Foster teamwork;
- Demonstrate a strong focus on customer service;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- This position requires fluency in French and English for daily tasks, understanding documentation, and professional communication with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across Canada. French and English language skills are essential, both oral and written.
