Job description
- Proactively monitor, manage, and improve the availability and performance of production environments (from presentation and application layers to infrastructure);
- Plan and implement application deployments, load testing, and configuration changes;
- Appreciate that production is ready and available and work with teams to understand user needs;
- Contribute to medium and large-scale technical projects by contributing to architecture review and design, system updates and migrations application to new platforms;
- Collaborate and work on a set of priority tasks ensuring regular updates ensuring that the target solution remains the priority;
- Understand the phases of delivery to ensure that work is completed according to a defined specification and schedule;
- Help identify process efficiency optimizations and contribute to their automation;
- Provide constructive feedback and propose solutions to management on performance, capability and design issues;
- Collaborate in documenting designs and architectures and distribute meeting minutes and actions.
- Have at least five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a similar role;
- Have the experience to provide multidisciplinary technical support as part of a team;
- Experience configuring application monitoring tools (such as Dynatrace);
- Demonstrate experience working with common CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Ansible, ArgoCD);
- Have a thorough knowledge of Linux/Unix and good knowledge of Windows systems;
- Have a strong knowledge of containerization solutions such as Docker and Kubernetes;
- Have a working knowledge of performance and capacity management from an application, database, and network perspective, as well as a solid Ability to Automate
- Have knowledge of APIs and interaction with Cyberark or Vault;
- Demonstrate knowledge of programming and scripting methodologies and demonstrable proficiency in writing code in programming languages such as Python;
- Have skills with SQL Server, Oracle and noSQL DBs;
- Have a good general understanding of the overall infrastructure, firewalls, networks and considerations in these areas;
- Have an understanding of cloud-based platforms and solutions;
- Have a good understanding of network principles and working knowledge of load balancing technologies;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the application lifecycle and Agile methodology;
- Have a good understanding of ITIL processes;
- Have an understanding of user and server authentication that allows for automated deployment cycles while ensuring that security is one of the most important aspects concerns;
- Have strong problem-solving skills;
- This position requires fluency in French and English for daily tasks, understanding documentation and professional communication with customers, suppliers and colleagues across Canada. Language skills in French and English are essential, both oral and written.
